  1. Wash the mussels. Mix 2 cups of water and 2 teaspoons of baking soda in a bowl. Put the flour in a bowl.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot. Arrange the mussels on wooden sticks. Dip them in carbonated water, and then roll them in flour. 
  3. Fry them in the hot oil. Take them on a paper towel and drain the excess oil.
  4. You can use tarator sauce as mussel sauce. To prepare the tarator sauce, peel the garlic cloves. 
  5. Crush 4 slices of crusty bread, half a glass of ground walnuts, garlic, salt, and olive oil in a blender. Put it into the sauce bowl.
  6. Place the mussels on a serving plate. Serve hot with tarator sauce. Enjoy your meal.
