Turkish Rice Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 kg of milk
  • 200 g sugar
  • Vanilla
  • 110 grams of sübye (recipe is down below)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 40 grams of rice

Instructions

  1. First of all, put the milk, egg yolk, and sugar in a pot and whisk them. Set the pot to low heat on the stove.
  2. Boil rice on the other stove.
  3. When the rice is soft, strain it and add it to boiling milk.
  4. Give consistency to our boiling rice pudding with sübye and boil it for 2 more minutes. Portion the prepared rice pudding into bowls.
  5. Carefully add a small amount of water to the baking tray.
  6. Bake the rice pudding in the oven at 200-250 degrees until the top is browned and serve. Enjoy your meal.

Sübye Recipe

200 g rice, 200 g water (110 g milk per 1 kg milk)

We give the recipe for making 200 grams of milk for educational purposes. You can put the remaining milk in the fridge and reuse it after a week. You can also change these measurements according to the amount of rice pudding you will make.

  1. Put the rice in a water bowl. Completely drain the water from the rice after it has been soaked overnight.
  2. Put the 200 grams of water and 200 grams of soaked rice in a blender until the rice is completely pureed. Then strain it, and then you can use it.
