Mandu (Korean Dumplings)

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 1 egg
  • 4 cups of flour
  • Warm water

For the filling:

  • 250 grams of minced meat
  • 1 tbsp. sesame oil or vegetable oil
  • 1/2 bunch of green onions
  • 1 piece of tofu
  • 2 leeks (finely chopped)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. black pepper

Instructions

  1. For the dough, put the flour, warm water, and egg into a bowl. Knead all the ingredients.
  2. When the dough reaches a soft consistency, cover it with a damp cloth and rest it for 30 minutes.
  3. After resting, divide the dough into four pieces.
  4. Roll out the dough with the help of a rolling pin, and cut it into rounds with the rim of a cup.
  5. For the filling, finely chop the onion, green onion, and leek.
  6. Add tofu, sesame oil, minced meat, salt, and spices to the chopped vegetables and mix.
  7. Place the filling you prepared in the center of the dough that is cut in a round shape.
  8. Then close the dough to form a half-moon.
  9. You can pinch the dough, then join the two ends together to form a round shape.
  10. You can serve the dough pieces you prepared after frying them in hot oil. Enjoy your meal.

  • You can also use mushrooms, soy sauce, and ginger in the filling.
