Homemade Naan


  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tsp granulated sugar
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp yogurt
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tbsp salt

For the top:

  • 5 tablespoons butter (melted)

  1. Put the warm water, granulated sugar, and yeast in a bowl and mix to activate the yeast.
  2. Then cover it and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  3. Put the flour into a large bowl and make a well in the center.
  4. Add yogurt, olive oil, and butter to the center of the flour.
  5. Add salt to the resting yeast, and add this mixture to the flour. Knead this dough.
  6. When the dough starts to thicken, cover it and let it rest for an hour.
  7. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces.
  8. Place the dough pieces on the floured kitchen counter and roll them out to medium thickness.
  9. Meanwhile, heat a non-stick skillet and cook the dough in the skillet back and forth.
  10. Spread melted butter on the cooked naan and serve hot. Enjoy your meal.

  • The most important point to be considered in bread-making is the resting process.
  • Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 1 hour at room temperature.
  • Be careful not to roll out the dough too thin or too thick.
  • If you wish, you can add finely chopped garlic to the melted butter to add some flavor.
