Homemade Doner Kebab


  • 1 kg lean steak meat from the veal rump.
  • 3 onions
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 45 g olive oil
  • 100 g milk
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Thyme
  • Sweet red chili powder
  • Cumin

For the tomato sauce:

  • 130 g tomato puree
  • 50 g of water
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt
  • Black pepper

For serve:

  • 1 bowl of yogurt
  • 1 pita bread

For frying:

  • Sunflower oil
Homemade Doner Kebab


  1. Grate the onion and garlic and put them in a large bowl. Add olive oil, milk, and spices, and mix. Add the steaks.
  2. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for 3–4 hours. Layer the marinated meats on top of each other.
  3. Wrap tightly with plastic wrap. Leave in the freezer for 1 night. Take the doner out of the freezer and slice it thinly.
  4. Heat the sunflower oil in a pan. Fry the sliced doner in this oil. Cook the ingredients for the sauce in a small saucepan for 3–4 minutes.
  5. Cut the pita bread into cubes. Heat it in a pan with a non-stick surface and place it on a serving plate. Pour the sauce you prepared on top.
  6. After placing the cooked doner, pour the remaining sauce over the doner. Serve with yogurt. Enjoy your meal.
