Easy Mochi

Instructions

  1. First, line a tray with baking paper and use an ice cream scoop to portion the ice cream on the paper. Put the ice cream in the freezer for an hour.
  2. Meanwhile, mix the flour and sugar in a bowl. Add water and mix until you get a smooth consistency.
  3. Put the mixture in a heat-resistant bowl and microwave for a minute.
  4. To avoid sticking, use a wet spatula. Fold the mixture several times and microwave again for another minute.
  5. Fold the dough again and microwave for another 30 seconds. The mochi should look shiny. If not, you can microwave for another 30 seconds.
  6. Place the prepared mochi dough on the counter and sprinkle with cornstarch.
  7. Since the mochi dough is sticky, roll it out with a rolling pin sprinkled with starch. Refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes.
  8. After removing the dough from the refrigerator, use a glass to press the dough into round pieces.
  9. Spread starch on the top of the dough, fill it with ice cream, and seal it.
  10. Press down well so that the mochi dough is completely closed. After filling the pieces with ice cream, place them in the freezer for an hour.
  11. Let it rest for 10 minutes to thaw slightly before eating. Bon appetit!
