Chocolate Mug Cake


  • 60 g flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g milk
  • 4 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp chocolate chips
  • 6 tsp cocoa powder
  • 43 g sunflower seed oil
  • 1 packet of baking powder

To grease the cups:

  • 1 tbsp sunflower seed oil

For the top (optional):

  • A packet of raspberry sauce
  • Currants
  • Sliced almonds

  1. First of all, put the eggs and granulated sugar in a bowl and whisk them with a mixer until they turn white.
  2. Add milk and sunflower seed oil to the mixture and continue whisking.
  3. Blend the chocolate drops with cocoa. Add the sifted flour and baking powder, and mix.
  4. Continue whisking after adding the cocoa mixture.
  5. Grease the inside of the cups with sunflower seed oil.
  6. Place the cups in a thin-bottomed pot and half-fill with warm water.
  7. Fill the cups with the cake mixture so that there is one finger of room for the cake to rise.
  8. The water vapor rising during cooking mustn't reach the cake mixture.
  9. Therefore, cover the cups with a clean kitchen cloth or baking paper.
  10. Cook the cake over high heat until the water boils. When the water starts to boil, turn the heat to low and cook for 15-20 minutes.
  11. Let the cakes in the cup rest for 10 minutes without opening the lid of the pot.
  12. Pour the fruit sauce over the cake, and place the currants on top.
  13. You can serve the cake upside down in the cup or on a serving plate. Enjoy your meal.
